Marmanjos
Marmanjos and Chechelentas is a project for drawings and installation that explores the interstitial space between telecommunication lines, sewer systems, streets and bridges, human beings and animals. This is the space where these characters which I have created live: the marmanjo, the chechelenta, the cocozinho and the pandorgas. The marmanjo is red and sad, feeds on the tears, and feces of human beings and from time to time drinks the ink left in the drawer’s inkpot. Chechelenta is gray, has only one breast and no vagina, so is unable to conceive, thus goes sadly sagging her hairy body trying to mother Cocozinho, a crib ridden little pink bear, incapable of ownership, always yearning for mamma, and finally the Pandorga who is a two headed being, only apt to think because two heads think well as the say. They all conform a very strange troupe that inhabits our moments of loss, of sadness or happiness as parasites of the small, as molecules of wasted life or naked carriages of entanglement.
