Procession
For the past two years I have been preoccupied with the meanderings of the so-called soul, that collection of spirits, forces and demons that inhabit our daily schedules.
I have made a point of researching human nature, its million labyrinths and unexplained interstices. I thought drawing was as good a medium as writing in order to uncover these spirits. The gestural nature of the large drawings I was invested in was a natural extension of my body, of my impulses and my temperament. The unconscious found a way to be manifested in this exploration of my arm enabled with brush and ink. My dreams and questions on the origin of the dust we are made of, and my devotion for the absurd all found expression in this drawings and writings. I have found uncanny explanations and amazing depth in the quest for understanding the nature of that unidentifiable thing that fills us. The result of that quest is this body of work collected in the “Procession” series.
